Visiting Denver,Colorado for the Chris Brown and Usher The R&B Tour
I’m going to be honest and say that initially I was a bit surprised that Chris Brown and Usher were launching their R&B tour from Denver. I grew up in Denver and it doesn’t always give immediate R&B vibes. However, Chris Brown had a incredibly success concert held at Coors Field that I’m pretty sure sold out. Usher performed at Ball Arena in 2024. I just checked the tickets and they’re pretty reasonably priced and they’re selling fast. If you’re planning on visiting Denver, Colorado for the first time so that you can attend the Chris Brown and Usher The R&B tour we’re excited to have you. Read this to help you better plan your visit.

Quick Tips
There are a few important things to know before you book your trip.
- You can get Altitude Sickness here-Denver, Colorado is a high altitude location. NOT MEDICAL ADVICE: Start drinking more water before you come into town. Seriously, like a week before. If you have medical issues-talk to your doctor about any concerns you may have about high altitude travel.
- Denver is a low-humidity location-Your skin, lips, etc. will feel really dry so make sure to bring lip balm, really good lotion, etc. and a water bottle to stay hydrated.
- Public Transit Accessibility-Empower Field is within walking distance of two light rail stations.
- Bring some flats for walking.
- Know the Clear Bag Policy! That will be in effect for this concert.
- The weather is unpredictable in June-It can be very hot, cold and in-between all in the same day.
- Bring layers.
- From June 17-June 21st is one of the best weeks to be in Denver (Especially for Black Travelers)-I also consider June to be the best month for Black travelers to visit Denver (despite the unpredictable weather)
- Empower Field is VERY close to downtown Denver
Book a Tour While in Denver
There’s a lot to do while you’re in town and one of the suggestions that I make is to book a tour. Especially if you’re looking to explore the mountains. Leave the planning and driving to someone else during the summer travel season. Listed below are a great mix of in-town experiences or nature/mountain focused tours.
I definitely recommend booking your tours ASAP because it’s the high season for summer tourism and those spots are limited.
Book Your Hotel
Because Empower Field is so close to Downtown Denver, I’ve picked several hotels that have a great location and are relatively easy to make your way over to the stadium.
Springhill Suites by Marriott Denver Downtown
Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Denver Union Station

Wednesday, June 17-Sunday June 21st Events
Here’s a few events to know about that will be happening while you’re in town. I do want to mention that at the time I’m working on this post the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche and Colorado Mammoth are all in the playoffs. It’s likely that all or some of those teams could be playing playoff games while you’re in town. Check out the Ball Arena events page to see what’s going on.
- Juneteenth Musical Festival from June 19th-June 20th-Denver has had a formal observation of the Juneteenth holiday/celebration since the 1950’s. This is hardly surprising given that the border of Texas once physically touched Colorado’s border.
- Sunset Sessions-On June 19th. This is a free event. Enjoy music, art and happy hour. Make sure to RSVP HERE.
- Yoga on the Rocks-This event might be hard to attend because it’s held on Saturday mornings. You may be tired from the concert. If you’re not and love yoga, this is a wonderful experience. You will have to drive to Red Rocks to attend this yoga class and they start early.
- Harry Potter and the Cursed Child-If you love theater as much as I do, head to the Denver Center for Performing Arts to watch Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I’m so excited it’s going to be in town because I was planning to fly to London to see it.
- Hang out at a local farmers market-Here are a few of my favorites
- Mo Betta Green Marketplace-This is a Black owned market that’s tiny and perfect. They make amazing fresh pressed juices, typically have music, classes and are the quintessential market experience (Saturdays from 10-2 pm. Starting date TBA)
- City Park Farmers Market-I love the layout of this farmers market, accessibility and just the overall vibes. It’s a great market for both vegans and carnivores. (Saturdays from 8-1 pm starting May 2nd, 2026)
- South Pearl Street Farmers Market-If you’re enjoy wandering around, people watching and prepared foods-this is the market for you. It’s located on a cute street that you can get to via light rail from downtown Denver. You would get off at the Louisiana and Pearl station, make your way to Pearl Street and head towards the market. There’s no way you can miss it or all of the people heading that way. (Sundays from 9:00 am-1:00 pm beginning May 3rd, 2026 )
- Do you love baseball or visiting baseball stadiums? The Colorado Rockies have two back to back series that will be in town this week.
- Pittsburgh Pirates from June 19-June 21st
- Boston Red Sox from June 22nd-June 24th

[…] Initially, I was a bit surprised that Usher and Chris Brown were kicking off their tour at Denver’s Empower Field (where the Denver Broncos play) then I remembered that both of their tours basically sold out in the past year. I have a lot of thoughts about the broader implications of R&B artists finally visiting Denver. If you’re a fan, here’s a link to a post on how to plan for the event, where to stay and more. […]
