Little Owl Coffee
There are certain subjects that will create a high level of almost fanatical conversation. Where’s a good place to eat, where’s a good place to go for a cocktail, politics, religion, and who makes the best coffee? Fortunately for Denverites, there is a a coffee culture that has grown not only in actually size but is impressive with the sheer quality of fantastic shops to visit. In fact, there are so many great coffee shops that I will be working on a list of shops that you should visit-and probably haven’t yet because of the hype surrounding certain shops downtown.
I Digress
Today I would like to share with you a wonderful and unassuming shop called Little Owl Coffee. It is located in the Sugar Cube building. If you know where Cholon is, then you’re on the right block and you just have to walk south as if you were heading towards the Rio. Keep looking on your right hand side and you will see a small patio and a cute wooden..stump/sign thingie letting you know that you’ve arrived.
Typically there are two easy going baristas working the bar. The space is spare, clean, and you almost feel like you could be in Denmark. Scores of businessmen, young professionals, and bearded hipsters flow in and out. There are always several people working on their laptops and when the weather is warm, people enjoy their well made coffees on the patio and watch the police go by on their Segways.
I recommend starting with either a latte or a cappuccino and pare it with a delicious pastry (specifically the rhubarb strawberry pop tart). Mind. Blown!
