36 Hours in Denver to Visit the Museum for Black Girls

Spread the love

Sometime towards the end of 2019 I remember hearing about a cool new project in town. It was a beautiful tribute to the lives of Black women and I thought-I need to support this vision and space. What made it so notable was that it was being designed here in Denver. This wouldn’t be the first time that a unique space curated to share the African-American experience in Colorado. It may surprise you that Madam CJ Walker launched her business in Denver while living with her sister. I know that it wouldn’t surprise you that she had to move to grow that business because there weren’t enough Black people to sell to. I made my way to the first space where it was housed and got to experience the vision, meet the founders (they are so nice) and one of their daughters-adorable. It made me feel seen. If you’re planning to spend 36 hours in Denver to visit the Museum for Black Girls here’s a planning guide to have a fantastic time while you’re here.
