Things to Do in Denver, Colorado in November 2024
One of my favorite months of the year in Denver is November. I love seeing holiday lights decorating the city, eating posole verde and just enjoying the slower pace that comes with winter. And, I enjoy winter season in the mountains. There’s nothing better than heading up for a couple of days (I usually head to Breckenridge) and soaking in the hot tub, sitting in front of the fireplace and enjoying a nice glass or wine or delicious mocktail. This is also the time of year when there’s a surprising amount of activities to enjoy in town. From theater season being in full swing, several of our favorite professional sports teams in action and all of the live music-Denver is a great place to enjoy in November. And ski season has started…depending on the weather conditions. Here’s a list of things to do in Denver, Colorado in November 2024.

Book a Tour
There are so many incredible experiences to be had in Denver and the state of Colorado. I strongly recommend booking a tour especially if you’re unfamiliar with driving in the mountains or nervous about winter driving conditions. And it’s so nice to leave the planning to someone else. If you’re visiting or new to Denver book a fun tour as a part of your visit.
Where to Stay
There are so many hotels in Denver’s city center that it can feel a little overwhelming which one to choose. I’ve picked a few of my favorite hotels for Denver staycations or vacations. I’ve also included links to posts that share some of the things that make each property a great place to stay at and why.
What Denver is Like in November
Denver is super chill in November. Locals are a lot more relaxed and we’re appreciating the shift in tourist traffic to the mountains for ski season. There’s still a lot to do in Denver during the month of November. Here are a couple of events I would like to highlight that are happening this month:
- Farmers Market Season ends 🙁
- Warren Millers “75” Winter Sports Lovers IYKYK
- Botanic Gardens Blossoms Of Lights (This always sells out)
- Denver Christkindl Market-I still love that they are holding this market in Civic Center Park
What is Denver’s Weather Like in November
I hate to tell people the truth about Denver’s weather. You never believe me. The weather is pretty nice in November. We don’t get as much snow as we used to in years past. I would recommend having layers of clothing with you because the weather can change pretty quickly throughout the day. I still sit and enjoy coffee shop patios during this time of year. I might wear a beanie and a jacket while I’m sitting outside and it’s a pretty pleasant experience. If it snows it seems to happen on the most inconvenient day and inconvenient time. Like Thanksgiving weekend.
Without fail.
Cherry Creek North Winter Wonderland
In recent years I’ve become a lot less enamored with Cherry Creek. It just feels a little…cold. With the exception of the Cherry Creek North Winter Wonderland. They do a wonderful job a designing a warm, inviting and cozy holiday experience.
With hot cocoa and other drinks to enjoy.
If you’re in town when Cherry Creek North Winter Wonderland is happening I strongly recommend heading over. Make sure to give yourself time to wander, shop and enjoy something delicious to eat while you’re in that area. Cherry Creek Mall is located across the street from this event if you would like to pick up some additional holiday gifts while you’re in the area.
Cultural Events and Theater
Yes, Denver is a huge sports town. It’s also a town with a deep creative community and that creativity is expressed via art, theater, music and film. Here’s what you can enjoy this November.

Finally, we can watch the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche on tv (I still have rabbit ears on my flat screen) there’s a method to my madness. My favorite thing, however, is to watch a game in person. These are a few of the games happening in November. Ski Season Begins
No things to do in Denver Colorado in November 2024 post would be complete without mentioning that ski season begins in earnest during the month of November. At the time that I’m working on this post it’s still incredibly hot and I’m hoping that the weather will get the memo soon that it’s supposed to cool off.
